Easy & Healthy Pumpkin Spice Syrup
If you love PSL’s but want a healthier version, here it is! I personally like this recipe without the water added because I prefer more of a “pumpkin sauce” in my coffee but with the water it makes a nice syrupy mixture. The syrup is easily poured into your daily cup of joe for a pumpkin flavor without all the weird additives. Yields 1 small 8oz jar full of syrup. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
o 1/2 c pumpkin puree
o 4 tbsp of maple syrup
o 2 tbsp of brown sugar
o 2 tsp of vanilla extract
o 2 tsp pumpkin spice
o 1 tsp cinnamon
o 1/4 c filtered water
Instructions:
1. In a small sauce pan, combine pumpkin puree and spices, cooking on medium heat for 2 minutes or until begins to bubble.
2. Stir in the filtered water, vanilla extract, maple syrup, and brown sugar. Cook on medium-low heat for 8 minutes stirring until combined.
3. Remove from heat and let mixture cool, storing it in a tightly sealed container in the fridge for up to 7 days. For one cup of coffee I use about 1-2 tbsp of syrup but feel free to add more if you’d like. Enjoy!
